Who we are
We are a non-profit organization dedicated to civilian-oriented approaches of community welfare and public health. Our multidisciplinary team comprises emerging medical specialists, scientific researchers, and students in the spectrum of the life sciences. Our work promotes research in the elucidation of pathological mechanisms and of preventative measures to combat infectious and zoonotic tropical diseases. Our intention is one of proposing disease therapies and incentivizing a consecration of scientific academic networks throughout Venezuela and the rest of the continent.
Our mission
To propose and encourage scientific research integral to contending the emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases which impact our immediate communities and have a further reach of pathology and morbidity throughout the world.
Our perspective on the future
To be a leading figure and exemplar at the national and international levels, in educating young researchers and collaborating with seasoned professionals. We intend to be leaders in the achievement of innovative contributions in biostatistics, epidemiology, diagnostic mechanisms, therapeutic alternatives, and prophylactic measures for the improvement of the global understanding of disease and the holistic welfare of Venezuelan society.
Our Principal Objectives
- Studying the emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases prevalent in Venezuela and in the rest of the continent.
- Engaging in scientific exchange with other academic institutions at the international level.
- Establishing laboratories pertinent to the different domains of our scientific research.
- Consistently maintaining a series of community-centered projects catering to the epidemiological needs of an ever-changing schema of disease in Venezuela.
- Delivering the advancements of our research team from the laboratory to patients’ bedsides.
- Enacting post-exposure prophylactic measures in health-care centers and advocating for pre-exposure prophylaxis to infectious disease in local communities.
- Consecrating a network of citizen scientists throughout the country.
