Juan Carlos Gabaldón-Figueira
Juan Carlos Gabaldón-Figueira (MD, MSc), is a doctor graduated from the Universidad de los Andes (Mérida, Venezuela), MSc in Medical Parasitology (London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, London, United Kingdom), researcher in the Area of Infectious Diseases at the Clínica Universidad de Navarra (Pamplona, Spain). Juan Carlos has worked on the description of the epidemiological characteristics of the malaria epidemic in Venezuela, and is interested in the development of new treatments and vector control strategies useful in the control of Chagas disease, malaria, onchocerciasis and other neglected tropical diseases. He has been part of the Venezuelan Incubator of Science since 2021, serving as Academic Coordinator.
