Natalia D. Vivas-Vitora, M.D

        Natalia D. Vivas-Vitora, M.D is a Human Rights Defender and Doctor of Medicine, graduating Cum Laude from the Luis Razetti School of Medicine at the Central University of Venezuela (2022). She also was honored with the distinction “Dr. Luis Razetti”, recognizing her exceptional accomplishments during her medical studies.

Through out her studies, Natalia has participated in several student-led health missions around the country, including rural and indigenous communities, where she has developed various projects that aimed to improve the living conditions of Venezuelan people, specifically their health conditions, comprehending areas like water, hygiene and sanitation (WASH), sexual and reproductive health, and infectious diseases. Natalia’s current research interests focus on neglected tropical diseases, specifically studying the factors that have influenced the decay of the Venezuelan health system and the possible solutions for it. She’s now developing several research papers, soon to be published in national journals. Elseways, Natalia has developed herself in the human rights field from a very young age, making her one of the most relevant young voices between human rights defenders in her home country and a human rights defender at risk recognized by Civil Rights Defenders.
